Peer Pressure

There's nothing like a little peer pressure. Wednesday, I read Heather's blog about her bucket list. Today, I talked to Jen about her bucket list.  This makes me think about my own list - which has been in rough draft form for a few years now. I think I need to finish mine up and just go ahead and put it out there.

From what I can tell all bucket lists are based on each individual's perspective on life. My definition is simple - a list of things I would like to do before I "kick the bucket". These aren't mandatory to me and there are lots of things that are much MORE important than accomplishing the bucket list. I have a separate list of musts that is very personal to me.

1. travel to Boston with Jon - we have been talking about this since before we were married. A Red Sox game will be on the agenda

2. take Gracie to New York - she is so impressed with it. I have to take her there so she can see what it's all about. Ice skating in Central Park is a must!

3. take Caroline to a Dude Ranch - she LOVES horses and farms - this will be a challenge for me I think.

4. swim with the dolphins

5. take Jonas (our dog) to the beach

6. take Anna Kate to Disney World

7. take all three kids to Washington D.C.

8. plant a garden and harvest it

9. see London - still not positive about this one

10. make amazing memories with my family that none of us will forget! This one may be the hardest of all.

11. be a better blogger ;)

Happy New Year!

  1. I have determined that I am old enough to have a "Bucket List" and to comment on others "Bucket List" as I cross some things off my own.

So Jon, Kellye, Gracie, Caroline, Anna Kate and Jonas here goes...

    1. Boston and a Red Sox game is a priority!!! My bucket list item was Wrigley Field and a Cubs game. Got this one 3 years ago and it still is one of my best memories. Cannot imagine that Boston could be any better. Cubs fans are one of a kind baseball fans.

2 & 3. Talk Gracie out of this PLEASE!!! The shine went off this Apple even before 2001. I think Dallas, TX could be a great suggestion for the Style and Big City she is looking for, and besides you don't have to go too far to find a Dude Ranch for Caroline and you can get 2 for 1 on this one!!

    4. Not sure why but I guess it would be OK. We went on a sailboat off Marco Island one year and the dolphins swam with us on the way to Shell Island, that was fun. I reccomend the boat though.

    5. Jonas, Gracie, Caroline, Anna Kate can come to Panama City Beach with us this year. God willing Joyce and I hope to spend a few weeks there this summer (Our Bucket List). Kellye and Jon, you can come too.

    6. 7. and 8. DO NOT MISS A SINGLE ONE! THEY ARE MEMORIES FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIVES. I am in my 50's now and I still remember these things from time with Mom, Dad and each of my children and some of my Grandchildren... Memories, no one can take them away! I love them all.

    9. Why? The Beatles are not there anymore... But international travel is good everyone should have a Passport. Just in case...

    10. SEE 1 THROUGH 9 ABOVE, ITS REALLY PRETTY EASY. One step at a time, but you may want to renumber the list.

    11. You are.

Comments from Dad with Love for you all!
